1983 Στην κορυφή των Βρετανικών Albums Chart βρίσκεται το άλμπουμ των U2 με τίτλο “War”.  Θεωρείται το πρώτο πολιτικοποιημένο άλμπουμ του συγκροτήματος, κυρίως για τα τραγούδια “Sunday Bloody Sunday” και “New Year’s Day”. Οι ηχογραφήσεις έγιναν στα Windmill Lane Studios στο Δουβλίνο από το Μάιο έως και τον Αύγουστο του 1982, με παραγωγό τον Steve Lillywhite. Έγινε δύο φορές πλατινένιο στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία και τέσσερις φορές στις ΗΠΑ.
