Το "The Call" είναι το single του γερμανικού power metal συγκροτήματος Masterplan, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε στις 25 Μαΐου 2026. Το τραγούδι αποτελεί τον προπομπό του έβδομου στούντιο άλμπουμ τους με τίτλο "Metalmorphosis", το οποίο αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει στις 26 Ιουνίου 2026 από τη Frontiers Music Srl. Πρόκειται για την πρώτη δισκογραφική δουλειά της μπάντας με νέο υλικό μετά από 13 χρόνια, από την κυκλοφορία του "Novum Initium" το 2013. 

Οι Masterplan ιδρύθηκαν το 2001 από τους Roland Grapow και Uli Kusch μετά την αποχώρησή τους από τους Helloween. Η μπάντα καθιερώθηκε με τα άλμπουμ Masterplan (2003) και Aeronautics (2005), τα οποία θεωρούνται κορυφαία δείγματα ευρωπαϊκού melodic power metal. Μετά το Novum Initium (2013), η μπάντα επικεντρώθηκε σε περιοδείες και επανεκδόσεις, χωρίς νέο υλικό μέχρι το 2026. Το “The Call” παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά ζωντανά σε επιλεγμένες εμφανίσεις την άνοιξη του 2026, ενώ το Metalmorphosis αναμένεται να αποτελέσει το πιο ώριμο και σύγχρονο άλμπουμ της δεύτερης εποχής των Masterplan.

Το single προέρχεται από το επερχόμενο άλμπουμ Metalmorphosis, που κυκλοφορεί στις 26 Ιουνίου 2026, σηματοδοτώντας την επιστροφή των Masterplan στη δισκογραφία.

Η μπάντα του Roland Grapow, που ιδρύθηκε το 2001 μετά την αποχώρησή του από τους Helloween, συνεχίζει να κινείται σταθερά στο μελωδικό power metal, διατηρώντας τον χαρακτηριστικό ευρωπαϊκό ήχο της.

Η κυκλοφορία του single έρχεται σε μια περίοδο όπου οι Masterplan επαναπροσδιορίζουν τη δημιουργική τους κατεύθυνση.

Το single λειτουργεί ως προπομπός του Metalmorphosis, ενός άλμπουμ που αναμένεται να σηματοδοτήσει την ανανέωση της μπάντας τόσο σε συνθετικό όσο και σε ηχητικό επίπεδο. Η AFM Records έχει ήδη ανακοινώσει ότι το άλμπουμ θα περιλαμβάνει νέο υλικό, με έμφαση στη σύγχρονη παραγωγή και στη μελωδική κατεύθυνση που χαρακτηρίζει την μπάντα από την ίδρυσή της.

Το Metalmorphosis είναι το πρώτο στούντιο άλμπουμ των Masterplan μετά το PumpKings (2017). Η μπάντα έχει διατηρήσει σταθερή παρουσία στη live σκηνή, αλλά η νέα κυκλοφορία σηματοδοτεί την επιστροφή της σε πλήρη δημιουργική δραστηριότητα.
