Ο Al Green ηχογράφησε αρχικά το τραγούδι για το άλμπουμ του 1974, το Al Green Explores Your Mind , σε παραγωγή του Willie Mitchell και με τους μουσικούς Charles , Leroy και Mabon Hodges ( The Hodges Brothers ), ντράμερ Howard Grimes και τους Memphis Horns .Ο Green και ο Mabon Hodges έγραψαν το τραγούδι ενώ έμεναν σε ένα ενοικιαζόμενο σπίτι στη λίμνη Χάμιλτον του Αρκάνσας , για τρεις ημέρες το 1973 για να βρουν νέο υλικό. Σύμφωνα με τον Mitchell, ο Green έγραψε τους στίχους και ο Green και ο Hodges έγραψαν τη μελωδία μαζί.

Το τραγούδι  Please Send Me Someone To Love είναι μια μπλουζ μπαλάντα που έγραψε και ηχογράφησε ο Percy Mayfield το 1950
