The Butterfield Blues Band - Run Out of Time

Ο Paul Vaughn Butterfield το 1963 φτιάχνει τη μπάντα με κιθαρίστα τον Elvin Bishop, ντράμμερ τον Sam Lay και μπασίστα τον Jerome Arnold.Το 1965, έρχεται στη μπάντα ο κιθαρίστας Mike Bloomfield και ο κημπορντίστας Mark Naftalin.

 Η μπάντα γνωρίζει μέρες μεγάλης δόξας και παίζει support στη μνημειώδη συναυλία του Bob Dylan το 1965 στο Newport Folk Festival. Αργότερα, η μπάντα αρχίζει να προσεγγίζει και τη τζαζ και για το λόγο αυτό εντάσσει  τον David Sanborn στο σαξόφωνο. Αν και εμφανίστηκε στο φεστιβάλ του Woodstock, η μπάντα αρχίζει να φθίνει από πλευράς δημοτικότητας στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1970
